Tybee Island Beach Bum Parade
May 18 2012 thru May 18 2012The Beach Bum Parade might surprise the unsuspecting visitor. Like most parades, there are floats pulled behind cars and trucks. Unlike most parades, however, the floats, often trailers or boats, are filled with water-throwing paraphernalia. Spectators, lined up along the parade route on Butler Avenue, armed with buckets, squirt guns and hoses. What results is an all-out water war for fun loving beach bums of all ages.
15th Annual Tybee Island Tour of Homes
June 09 2012 thru June 09 201215th Annual Tybee Island Tour of Homes, featuring a variety of historic and contemporary architectural styles. Guests are welcome to begin the tour at the home of their choice and will receive a map along with a list of homes printed on the back of the ticket. Proceeds will benefit The Rising Tyde Food Bank and the Tybee Island Maritime Academy charter school. Saturday, June 9, 2012 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Rain or shine Tickets are $30 donation in advance, $35 donation day of tour

July 03 2012 thru July 03 2012Tybee’s annual celebration of America’s birthday. Come early and plan to stay late as this is one of Tybee’s busiest days of the year and the island fills up fast. The show starts around dark thirty (around 9:15pm). The fireworks are staged on the pier, but they are easily viewed from any of Tybee’s eastern beaches.
