Photo Contest Rules:
IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS SUBMITTING YOUR PHOTOS WITH THE FORM EMAIL THEM DIRECTLY TO PHOTOCONTEST@TYBEEVISIT.COM. Please make sure to include your name, email, phone, and mailing address and include that “you accept the terms and conditions of the contest”.
1.) Who is eligible to enter the contest?
* Age requirements: You must be 25 years of age or older to enter the contest. Photos taken by children and young people under this age should have their entries submitted by a parent. In the event you win the contest you are subject to any age restrictions of the companies supplying the gift certificates.
* Must be your own photo: If you took the photo yourself, then you have the legal right to enter that picture. If someone else took the photo (e.g. you found it on the internet…or a professional photographer took the shot) then you do not hold the copyright to that picture and it should not be entered.
Please don’t submit photos that have already been submitted to other contests or posted on other websites. In the “fine print” of many contests, you give away your copyright to the photo when you enter the picture…which could cause problems in the future for winner’s photos posted on this site.
2.) Contest dates for the Tybee Island Photo Contest
All photos must be submitted by 5:00PM EST on Friday, July 1, 2011. Judging will begin Tuesday, July 5, 2011 and end on Friday, July 8, 2011. Winners will be notified by e-mail by Tuesday, July 12, 2011.
3.) How many photos can be entered?
Up to 5 photos can be submitted per household.
4.) What can cause photos to be disqualified?
* Quality restrictions: Your photo may be disqualified from the contest if it’s blurry, too dark, or too small to be seen clearly, etc. You may be notified and asked to send a clearer or higher resolution copy of your picture. Please send in the highest quality photo that you have. All photos submitted MUST be at least 1 MB in file size to be considered.
* Family-friendly restrictions: This is a family friendly contest and your photos should not be offensive. Please do not send photos which are sexually suggestive or explicit. Please do not send pictures which promote gangs, dangerous stunts, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, weapons, hatred nor other harmful activities.
* Picture must be taken while you were visiting Tybee Island: The world is full of wonderful places…but we are here to promote vacations to Tybee Island! Pictures taken elsewhere, although beautiful, will be disqualified from the contest.
5.) Judging:
Finalists will be selected by the Tybee Island Tourism Council staff. Finalist photos will be posted online for online voting.
6.) How are the prizes awarded?
After the judging period is over, the winning photos will be posted to Tybee Island’s Facebook Page.
The winners will be notified by email by Tuesday, July 12, 2011. It is your responsibility to make sure you enter with the email address that you want us to use to notify you if you win. If you are not contacted by email it probably means you didn’t win. If you receive an email notifying you that you are a winner, you must respond and verify the mailing address that you would like your gift certificate mailed to. A gallery of submitted images will be uploaded to our Tybee Island Facebook Page after the winner is notified.
7.) How do you enter the contest?
Simply fill out the online entry form. If you have problems with the form you may attach the photos to an email, along with your contact information, and agreement to the terms and conditions, and send to photocontest@tybeevisit.com.
Terms and Conditions:
Submission of the entry form and photographs will constitute permission to use winner’s name, hometown, likeness, photographs, statements or prize information for advertising and publicity purposes worldwide without limitation and without additional compensation, except where prohibited. The Tybee Island Tourism Council, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Savannah and its owners, employees, volunteers, representatives and agents will not be responsible for any and all liability for any injury, loss or damage of any kind to or of any person or property (including death of any person), arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize, participation in any contest related activity, or participation in this contest. This contest is void where prohibited or restricted. All submissions become property of Sponsor and will not be returned. By entering, you grant permission to the Tybee Island Tourism Council (TITC) and its agents and agencies the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify your entry photo(s) in any way, in any and all media worldwide, without limitation, and also constitutes your irrevocable assignment and transfer to TITC of all right, title and interest in the entry photo(s), including without limitation, all copyrights, without further consideration. By entering you warrant and represent that you are the photographer of the submitted photo(s) or that you have permission from the photographer to submit the photo(s), and that you have obtained all permission necessary for the TITC to publish or use your photo(s) in any media worldwide, including but not limited to permission from all persons depicted in your photo(s) and from any holder of copyrights, trademarks or other rights in materials or other items depicted in your photo(s). By entering, you also agree that the TITC may publish your name and entry photo(s) on the Tybee Island Tourism Council’s website or in such other media or formats as TITC may elect without further compensation. By entering, you also agree to confirm any of the above in writing.
You also understand that prizes awarded have no cash value and are subject to the individual terms, conditions, restrictions, and expiration’s on the individual gift certificates which will be mailed to you should your photo be selected as a winner.
